Is the factory stereo in your Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury XM-ready? If not, don't pay the ridiculous prices at the dealership. The XM Direct package includes everything necessary to play XM over your compatible factory stereo: an XM tuner box, a roof-mount antenna, and the adapter cable that connects the tuner to your stereo. (This package is not compatible with Ford vehicles that have rear entertainment systems.)

The tuner box is compact, so it can be hidden easily in a convenient spot behind the dash. The adapter cable connects to the tuner at one end, and your factory stereo at the other, providing both signal to the stereo and power to the tuner. The antenna mounts magnetically on your vehicle's roof, and connects to tuner box. The cable has a pass-through that lets you keep an extra component, such as a factory (or factory-compatible) CD changer, connected to the system.

Note: Your factory stereo must be XM-ready to work with this package. If you're not sure whether or not your factory stereo is XM-ready, ask your local dealership. An XM subscription is also required.

This package includes the XMD1000 universal XM Satellite Radio tuner, an XMDFOR100 Smart Digital Adapter, and a magnetic XM antenna. The adapter allows you to connect the XMD1000 tuner to select Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln vehicles with compatible factory radios; the adapter isn't compatible with vehicles equipped with an OEM rear seat entertainment system. In addition to the tuner, adapter, and antenna, you must have a subscription to XM Satellite Radio to receive XM programming.
XM Satellite Radio: XM Satellite Radio programming offers more than 150 digital radio channels including channels of commercial free music, plus news, sports, talk, comedy, and other entertainment programming from coast to coast.
Antenna: The XMD1000 includes an ultra-thin Micro Antenna with a 19-3/4' cable. The strong magnetic base securely attaches the antenna to the vehicle. Best reception is achieved with the antenna mounted on a metal surface of the vehicle roof in the center of an area with at least 12" x 12" of surface area, and a minimum of 6" from a window or sunroof.
Harness Connections: One side of the cable harness plugs into the adapter and the other end interfaces with the factory radio and wiring. The adapter end of the cable harness has a white 16-pin (15 pins present) rectangular plug. The radio side of the harness has the following two connectors: a gray 16-pin female connector and a tan 16-pin (8 pins present) male connector. The female connector plugs into the back of the factory radio and the male connector is used as a pass-through for other audio devices. A 6" jumper section is connected to the adapter side of the cable harness by two wires. The jumper section has a tan 24-pin female connector on one end and a tan 24-pin male connector on the other end. The female connector plugs into the back of the factory radio and the male connector interfaces with the factory wiring.
